Dear Fellow TAIR Members:
As you begin making plans for attending the TAIR conference at the Omni Corpus Christi February 11 – 14, 2018 (and hopefully submitting a proposal for a concurrent session – the deadline has been extended so it’s not too late!), you may be thinking about the cost and how you might be funding your attendance. If your office travel budget is a little short, TAIR can help.
Each year, TAIR awards several travel grants of up to $350 to help defray your travel expenses for the conference. You can apply at https://www.regonline.com/TAIRtravelgrants2018. The website is currently open for applications. The deadline for application is December 1, 2017. This is a little earlier than last year so that we can notify you a little bit earlier if you received an award.
Hurricane Harvey Travel Grants
In addition to the regular travel grants, in response to the devastation wreaked by Hurricane Harvey, TAIR is offering special travel grants of up to $500 for TAIR members who have been impacted by the hurricane. If you or your institution has been affected by Hurricane Harvey and you need funding assistance to attend the TAIR conference in Corpus Christi, please consider submitting an application for this travel grant. You can use the same application at https://www.regonline.com/TAIRtravelgrants2018 and there will be a question about the hurricane impact. The submission deadline is also December 1, 2017.
I hope you are planning to join us in Corpus Christi. The strength of TAIR depends on the participation of its members in presenting at and attending the conferences. A strong TAIR can provide more services and professional development opportunities at an affordable cost, so please help us keep TAIR strong.
I hope to see y’all in Corpus Christi where Data’s A Beach!!!
